1/25th of Broken Social Scene = Still Pretty Fucking Good.

I was lucky enough to catch Toronto's Jason Collett Thursday night at Mercury Lounge, which is probably the smallest space you'll see any Broken Social Scene member any time soon - it holds about 200 people. Though he's one of the lesser known BSSer's I still find Collett's music to be quite well written, especially in light of his latest record, Here's To Being Here. The record has a bit more of a southern twang than I expected, but I definitely have a soft spot for a touch of country.

The openers are all worth noting - Justin Jones, Tony Scherr, and Paddy Casey. I only caught a bit of Jones' set, but I look forward to hearing more. I saw Tony at Marion's back in September and still dig what he can do with a guitar, though his set was still a bit long. Tony's long set was unfortunate for Irish import Paddy Casey, who writes one mean lyrical track - his set got automatically shortened. He's got a great voice, a great sense of musicality - he kind of reminded me a bit of fellow countryman Fionn Regan. Casey wins the prize for most memorable line of the night: "If you liked what you heard my name is Paddy Casey and I have CDs for sale in the back. If you don't like what you heard my name is Damien Rice and you can get my album at any record store."

Jason Collett filled the house for the second consecutive night and quite quickly reminded me why. Playing mostly stuff off of Here's to Being Here, Jason and his tour band Paso Mino kept me engaged for the duration of the concert. There were no crazy antics, nothing really notable other than the fact that his songs are so well written. Tony Scherr joined on guitar for the set and added some really great slide guitar solo work on several pieces, but the main attraction was the Jason's music.

While the first few tracks weren't off of Here's..., "Sorry Lori" came pretty early on - it's catchy as shit. That song just gets stuck in my head for days on end - the little guitar riff. "Roll On Oblivion," "No Redemption Song" and "Not Over You" proved to be great middle-of-the-concert material. The latter part of the show saw one of my favorite tracks off the new record, "Charlyn, Angel of Kensington," a chill, sexy little number, and it translated beautifully on stage. But my favorite song of the night came right after "Charlyn" in the form of "Out Of Time." Just take a listen and you'll understand why. I was a bit disappointed I didn't get to hear "Waiting for the World," but I'm not going to complain - I was more than happy with what I heard the rest of the night.

If I had a chance to see Collett again, I would take it. You should too. Check him out if you haven't heard him before.

I always heard something from my neighbor that he sometimes goes to the internet bar to play the game which will use him some habbo credits,he usually can win a lot of habbo gold, then he let his friends all have some habbo coins, his friends thank him very much for introducing them the cheap habbo credits, they usually buy habbo gold together.
